I convey my heartiest greetings to all of you on my assuming the charge of Chairman & Managing Director of beloved NBCC this day. I am sure this finds you in the best of your health.
Today, it augurs well for me to recall that day in 1985 when I joined the NBCC family beginning my journey as one of your colleagues and with a mission to bring glories to the Organisation collectively. Indeed, we worked hand in hand, delivered and as we all happily behold, NBCC today stands out holding its head high as a towering organisation with many a milestones to its credit of which we all are witness to. Reckoned as one amongst top CPSEs, NBCC now, is a Schedule "A" Mini Ratna and listed Company, consistently being rated as Excellent by the Government for its remarkable performance over the past years. I must appreciate the fact here that in spite of market sluggishness throughout, my predecessors and we all fellow colleagues relentlessly worked together with devotion which only could make this difference that we cherish now.
Today, as I shoulder the responsibility of CMD of the company, I call upon each one of you to double your efforts as a TEAM so that we are able to consistently carry on this legacy, rather consolidate it further. I am confident that with renewed zeal, planned and sustained efforts, the day is not far when NBCC achieves its immediate milestone - NAVRATNA Status.
Based on the same guidelines, I also intend to briefly outline important components that I believe shall be charted as our top priority.
Our employees are our best resource. We need to motivate and nurture them in order to ensure that they contribute to their maximum potential towards the growth and development of the organization. Secondly, because good governance is integral to the very existence and growth of a company, it has to be supplemented by strictly following transparency in our work culture all through. Thirdly, NBCC being a service organisation, Customers' Satisfaction should always remain our primary concern ensuring delivery of projects with quality to their entire satisfaction. Last but not the least, NBCC being a listed company now, the onus always remains on us that we come up to expectations of our valued shareholders who have put their huge stake by investing in the company.
To conclude, I urge upon you to constantly stay focused and feel free to communicate with me on any matter you feel needs to be addressed in the good interest of our company. Let us all pledge to work together as a TEAM to grow and prosper in future to carve a niche and reach the zenith in the industry. To begin with, I would like all of you to take a call today, to achieve Rs.4500 crore turnover this fiscal 2013-14 and also aim for a consistent growth rate of 20% for the company now on.
